Alan Wallace is regarded as one of the west’s preeminent meditation teachers and retreat guides. He is the founder and director of the Santa Barbara Institute for Consciousness Studies and of the Center for Contemplative Research in Crestone, Colorado.

Alan offers decades of practice in attention-enhancing meditation. Attentional balance is a state in which the mind is free of the hyperactive extreme of agitation, the attentional deficit of dullness, and dysfunctional attention that is applied in unhealthy ways. These types of meditation provide the tools for training one’s capacity for attention to the fullest, enhancing everything we do. It is the key to mental balance. They offer a potential cure for the chronic distractibility that is so common in modern life, where we lack focus on the present moment.

Here you will also find Alan’s complementary practices for cultivating love, compassion, and clarity in our waking and dreaming lives.
